Late in 2013, there was a very disturbingYoutube that went viral and drew the attention of Nigerians to the torture of three women in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State,Nigeria.

In the video, there were some nasty men who tormented, dehumanized and humiliated the three women on the allegation that they stole pepper in the market.

The women were made to undergo series of degrading abuse with blended pepper and bottles shoved into their private parts.

The distressing act drew the ire of Nigeriansand the Lagos State House of Assemblyswung into action, declaring a manhunt for the perpetrators of the act who turned out to be men of the Odua Peoples’ Congress,OPC.

The men were arrested last week and are currently undergoing investigations but the damage has been done with one of the women reportedly dead due to the torture she underwent.
