COVID BREAKDOWN

When I tested positive for COVID a few days ago, nowhere in my test results did it tell me how long to quarantine for, how to monitor my symptoms, or when to seek medical care. If you have COVID, here's a breakdown on all that (even if you're vaxxed + boosted): First - a positive rapid test likely means you're contagious. Positive PCR means there is some viral matter detected, but you're not necessarily infectious. Make sure you get an official PCR at some point that shows a positive result (for documentation purposes). As of now, the official quarantine rules are ALL of the below: 1) isolate until 10 days from onset of symptoms 2) your symptoms must be significantly improving in order for you to leave quarantine 3) you must be fever-free for 24 hours WITHOUT any If you have: 1) fever or aches: take Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and Ibuprofen (Motrin/Advil) as needed. 2) cough/congestion: DayQuil+NyQuil are great, but usually can't be taken with Tylenol (check for the maximum dose). 3) vomiting/diarrhea: rehydrate with water/Gatorade/etc. When to seek medical care: 1) if your fever exceeds 100.4 F/38 C daily for 5+ days 2) if your oxygen levels drop below 90% even once, or are consistently under 94%. 3) if you're concerned at all about your symptoms or how long your recovery is taking. How to seek medical care: 1) virtual urgent care is great for minor concerns and staying in isolation! You'll be put on a Zoom with an on-call physician. Some
hospitals offer this. 2) going directly to an ER (make sure to disclose your COVID status at the door) General tips: 1) sleep as much as you can 2) if you don't need to be working or using screens, don't. 3) keep yourself occupied and take it day by day! hmu literally anytime if you have any questions, and feel free to add to this! just an add on - i'm aware that a lot of this info has been out there for a while and can be found from googling, but the point of this is that we shouldn’t have to go searching for basic info, it should be automatically given to COVID+ people Also i’m not a physician! This information is either gathered from online or what my doctors told me, but is by no means professional advice •sleekyikee •ignitionarchive
